MANDREL EXPANSION RINGS

Recoiler and Decoilers, used for winding and unwind of metal coils, are common in slitting, roll forming and other metal processes. These units usually come with an expanding mandrel to grip the internal bore of the steel roll. This device offers an efficient and secure method to hold coils of different bore sizes.

CNC Design offers customisable Mandrel Expansion Rings that can be used with various bore sizes. These rings are made of a special thermoplastic material that can stretch up to 100% and then return to the original size. These rings are soft enough to protect even 0.5mm thick sheet for non-ferrous coils and can be produced in the exact size to fit any mandrel. This provides an economical way to avoid redundant uncoiling of coils with different bore sizes.

CNC Design's Mandrel Expansion Rings feature:

  • Customisation - we can make custom Rings to fit specified internal and external diameters catering to the unique requirements of your mandrel.
  • Fast delivery – typically 5-10 working days.
  • Material – Industrial-grade durable thermoplastic material
  • Ease of Use - the design and light weight of the product allows easy installation and removal.
  • Durability:

                  o   Oil resistant.

                  o   Abrasion resistant.

                  o   High impact strength.

  • Safe to use in any environment and with any coil material.

CNC Design’s Mandrel Expansion Rings offer:

  • Secure Clamping
  • Coil Damage Prevention
  • Enhanced Productivity

Our Mandrel Expansion Rings expand and retract together with the mandrel safeguarding coils from damage. This mechanism addresses and mitigates common issues such as creasing, scratching, and marring, particularly at vulnerable points. Preventing metal-to-metal contact ensures that the inside wraps of the coils remain protected, ultimately preserving the integrity and quality of the material. Typically, 2-3 rings are required per mandrel depending on sheet width.
