Ingersoll Plano Milling Retrofit with SINUMERIK 840D for Ford Toolroom (Cost Effective Investment by Retrofitting)

CNC Design has been very active in HSC throughout Australia and SE Asia. By retrofitting machines with the latest SINUMERIK digital CNC systems and servo drives customers can adapt their machines to HSC and save on machine replacement costs.

Ford Motor Company's toolroom for manufacturing large press tools was faced with purchasing new machines. Instead we retrofitted SINUMERIK 840D to their three Ingersoll Plano Milling machines and were able to increase machining speeds from 1 m/min to above 5 m/min.

Improved surface finish significantly reduced the need for hand polishing. This was achieved for an investment of 15% of the replacement machine price.
