Rotogravure Printing Automation at Dae Jin



Dae Jin is one of leading Korean manufacturer for printing machine. Dae Jin manufacure high-efficient and compact Roto Gravure printing machine which is capable of printing 8 colors on various web materials ranging from flexible packaging film, aluminum foil, and paper etc. Operating line speed is 10 - 220 m/min and maximum machine line speed 220 m/min.

The printing machine incorporates following sections: unwinder and winder with splicing function, infeed unit, a main unit driving 8 printing stations and an outfeed unit.

CNC Design have supplied engineering design, installation and commissioning including part supply of suitable Siemens motion control solution based on Masterdrive MC/VC application to ensure uniform web speed and tension. The package has been rounded off by supplying the comprehensive training for Dae Jin engineers and 1 year system warranty.

Siemens PLC S7-300 with CPU 315-DP control system coordinates the operation of the 7 Masterdrives Vector Controlled (VC) drives, operator entry screen and digital I/O over Profibus to provide the major functionality of printing machine. The technology functions for speed synchronization, winder and unwinder operation has been performed by the technology cards T400.
