Okuma MCV-A Machining Center
Retrofitted with SINUMERIK 840Di
A 12 years OKUMA MCV-A Machining Center with
obsolete 3rd party CNC Control and DC Servosystem has been retrofitted
with the latest Siemens CNC technology by CNC Design Thailand for
an automotive part maker.
The solution was based on the SINUMERIK
840Di digital PC-Based CNC system. New synchronous
servomotors from 1FK7 series are supplied for each axis (X,Y,Z)
in conjunction with SIMODRIVE 611Ue digital servodrive. This Siemens
AC servodrive technology replaces the existing obsolete DC servodrive.
Communication between CNC
control and servodrives is done digitally over Profibus network.
In addition, a Profibus encoder is used to accomodate the positioning
feedback for tool magazine.
The integrated industrial ethernet interface within
SINUMERIK 840Di makes it possible for integration with existing
computer local area network in the plant. Part program transfer
management is accomodated using Siemens SINDNC software.
