optimisation and service solution.
As sawmill operators adopt scanning and optimisation
systems to boost board yields from log milling, rapid technology
improvements are raising the efficiency bar on recovery rates
– and cutting capital pay-back times for the equipment.

SAWMILL UPGRADE
CNC Design offers a comprehensive upgrade service including
new setworks control systems, operator consoles, variable
speed drives, hydraulics and scanning. All have been very
successfully retrofitted to a diverse range of machines such
as Carriages, Edgers, Gang saws, Resaws and Slabbers.
The reasons for upgrading are numerous; for example in the
case of log carriages it may be that fully independent knees,
improved setting accuracy or faster cycle times are required.
As the old “black box” control systems become increasingly
difficult and costly to service, many mills are choosing to
upgrade, while at the same time boosting throughput and recovery
with 3D scanning and optimisation.
