The solution for press line from incorporates
standard components of HMI, control system, main drives up
to 1 MW up and the safety concept. Control tasks and safety
functions at and around the press are realized using a single
system - the SIMATIC S7 PLC System; the connection of the
I/O devices is provided via PROFIB US.
The new safety concept is based on "Distributed Safety",
the central safety concept using PROFIBUS with the ProfiSafe
protocol for safe signal transfer. Depending on the particular
application, either the safety control system S7-315F
or the S7-400F is used.

The motion sequences of load-unload units and the orientation
stations optimized to the press are materialized in a SINUMERIK
CNC. This SINUMERIK 840D can be connected to a maximum of
7 further units via real-time coupling and be synchronized.
A special feature is the safety functionality "Safety
Integrated" integrated in the SINUMERIK 840D.
"Safety Integrated" guarantees safe motion control
for protection of human and machine without any expensive
supplementary devices.
The "Active Front End" (AFE) compensates
voltage fluctuations up to 65% of the mains power supply voltage
in case of weak systems and is mains-friendly thanks to sinusoidal
energy recovery. As all converters for the servomotors of
the handling devices, the converter for the maintenance-free
AC press main drive is also connected to the DC link busbar.
