WRAPPING
Wrapping machines are deemed to be a focus amongst the abundance
of different parceling machines offered on the market. Wrapping
machines wrap the goods or stacks to be packed either completely
or partially with flexible packing material. The general language
usage differentiates between
- Wrap-around machines
- Foil/paper wrapping machines
The whole packaging process requires a synchronous
motion of all axes involved in the process. This is achieved
by functions such as gearbox, cam disk, cam control, engaging/disengaging,
etc.
Solution
The products are transferred from the incoming conveyor
onto the packaging conveyor. The sheeting, printed or plain
is pushed underneath the products. A manipulator grips the
sheeting and wraps it around the products as they move along
the transport conveyor.
The wrapping process has to be synchronized with the movement
of transport conveyor. This also applies to the sheet feed
and the cutting process. Synchronization with printing mark
will also be required when using the printed packing material.
The use of synchronous servomotors with motion control drives
(MASTERDRIVE MC or SIMOTION C230) significantly increases
the flexibility and availability of the machine compared with
mechanical cam disks due to better dynamic response and improved
set up times.
