Blanking
Line Solution...
The solution for press line from Siemens
The heart of the automation solution is the
SIMOTION system in the SIMOTION C230 variant, which has been
developed especially for mechatronical automation solutions.
SIMOTION combines control tasks and motion functions in a
single system, allowing the user to optimize his/her automation
system by linking the closed and open-loop control and positioning
tasks previously implemented in several single devices now
in a consis-tent software solution. With the compact blanking
line, the take-up function of the coiler, the roller feed
functions including the positioning and the control tasks
are carried out by SIMOTION.
SIMOTION and PROFIBUS
The backbone of the solution is PROFIBUS. PROFIBUS
is also used to connect the fast drives of the roller feed
component, as well as of the feed axes of the straightening
machine component (e.g. with the POSMO A positioning
motor), the coiler drive (e.g. in frequency-controlled AC
technology) and the distributed, digital inputs/outputs and
the sensor system to SIMOTION. The OP 170B operator
panel for local operation is connected to SIMOTION via PROFIBUS
in the same way as the devices for startup and diagnosis.
The data communication to the superimposed press control is
also carried out via PROFIBUS. In addition, PROFIBUS constitutes
the basis for "Distributed Safety", the distributed
safety concept with PROFIBUS including the integrated ProfiSafe
protocol to ensure safe data transfer.
Thus, the safety functions can be realized either centrally
in the press control or distributed at the blanking line.
Low space requirements are the distinctive feature of a "compact
blanking line". The central unit is the feed straightening
machine, a combination of band insertion unit, straightening
machine and roller feed. In the case of lower material weights,
the coiler is coupled directly to the feed straightening machine.
This will reduce the required space even more through omission
of the loop pit. As an alternative, a loop cage will be provided
when larger coils are used - an optimum of low space requirements
and mechanical decoupling of uncoiling and straightening feed.
The compact design of the blanking line will result in a more
close coupling of the individual machine units and thus also
in a new approach in the automation structure.
