PROFIBUS is used to connect field devices
such as distributed I/O station or drives and other HMI to
automation systems like SIMATIC S7 PLCs or PCs.
SINUMERIK CNC controller, MASTERDRIVE MC, SIMODRIVE 611U,
SIMATIC PLC, Positioning Motors POSMO, PROFIBUS-DP Absolute
Encoders and other related field devices equipment can communicate
each other over PROFIBUS-DP. For this purpose, the communication
will be syncronised by a PROFIBUS master through appopriate
communication processor (CP). For some PLC CPUs, such communication
processors have been integrated.
This willl ensure a real integrated automation system for
your Machine Tools and Production Machines.
PROFIBUS networks can be configured with different transmission
media for a wide range of applications.
- Electrical data transmission using shielded twisted two-wire
cable with circular cross-section as standard
- Optical data transmission using fiber-optics cable with
glass or plastic fibers for indoor or outdoor areas, drum
cable or halogen-free version.
- Wireless data transmission via ILM (Infrared Link Module)
with a range of 15 meters.
