SIMOTION C – Modular and flexible in application

SIMOTION C230-2 is a controller in S7-300 design. It comes equipped with four analog drive interfaces and several “on-board” digital inputs and outputs. In addition, the C230-2 can be expanded to include the I/O modules and function modules from the SIMATIC S7-300 family. At additional interfaces, the C230-2 has two isochronous connections and one Ethernet connection, thus providing numerous communication options.

PROFIBUS can be used for distributed interfacing to the drives and I/O. PROFIBUS can be used to communicate with operator panels such as SIMATIC HMI, or higherlevel controllers such as SIMATIC S7. SIMATIC HMI operator panels, as well as PCs with ProTool/Pro or OPC interface can be used as the operator communication system.

Due to its modular design, the C230-2 is extremely
flexible and is particularly well-suited for the following
applications:

• Applications requiring a great deal of freedom in drive
  selection
• Applications having a broad range of process signals
