Built-in Spindle Motors


WEISS built-in spindle motors eliminate couplings, belts, and gearboxes to reduce spindle inertia and increase accel/decel times for increased productivity. Main features include low vibration, compact size, light weight, high power density and available in customised design.

The absence of drive traverse forces permits extremely high accuracy on workpiece due to smooth, accurate spindle motion even at very low speed.

WEISS built in spindle motors are available as synchronous motor and asynchronous motor. They can be integrated with Siemens servodrive or inverter.

Milling Performance Spindles

• Power range from 6 kW to 150 kW
• Driven by controlled or regulated inverter
• Constant power in additional range
• Speed ranges from 3,000 l/min to 60,000 l/min
• Equipped with hybrid ceramic spindle bearing, also with 100Cr6 or CronidurR30

Turning Performance Spindles

• Torque up to 918 Nm; Speed ranges up to 12,000 l/min
• Driven by controlled or regulated inverter
• Constant power in additional range
• Equipped with rolling bearing, hydrostatic or hydrodynamic plain bearings
