Modular Siemens MASTERDRIVE MC (Motion Control) and MASTERDRIVE
VC (Vector Control) converters and inverters come in power
ratings from 2.2 Kw to 200 Kw.
MASTERDRIVE MC is used with 1FK, 1FT and 1PH7 servo motors
where high dynamic performance and intelligent motion control
functions are required. Both are used in a wide range of Production
Machines.
The MASTERDRIVES MC frequency converters are specially designed
for industrial servodrive applications. In addition to the
well-proven modular hardware concept, MASTERDRIVES Motion
Control offers a modular software with freely-interconnectable
function blocks and integrated technology functions:
- Simple and Advanced Positioning
- Rotary Cam Control
- Electronic Gearbox
- Angular Synchronism
- Winder
- Registration Control
The MASTERDRIVES Motion Control series is
compatible regarding communication technology, operator control
and visualization and is available for line volt-ages of 3
phase 380 V to 480 V AC, 50/60 Hz, and in the following designs,
de-pending on power rating:
- Compact PLUS 0.55 kW to 18.5 kW
- Compact units 2.2 kW to 37 kW
- Chassis units 45 kW to 250 kW
Corresponding to highly dynamic MC control
on the motor side, there is now a line-side MASTERDRIVES AFE
(Active Front End) as well which uses active line-angle-oriented
vector control for optimum energy supply.
MASTERDRIVES AFE is characterized by:
- No system perturbations, i.e. very good overall power
factor
- Stall-protected operation even in the event of supply
dips and supply failure up to 65% of nominal rating.
- Highly dynamic rectifier and regenerative units
- Reactive-power compensation possible
- Four-quadrant operation.
At the end MASTERDRIVES AFE (Active
Front End) means energy saving up to 25% from nominal
load.
