Simple Machine Tool Control with Modem Connection


At the EMO 2003 in Milan, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) will present the Sinumerik 802D with new functions, including some for flexible turning machines with face machining (Transmit), and rotating tools. Another new feature is remote operation of the control via modem in conjunction with an HMI Explorer.

The Sinumerik 802S and 802C are now available as operator panel controls. Together with the Simodrive analog single-axis and two-axis compact drives, these "base-line versions" are suitable for simple turning and milling machines. The Sinumerik 802 manual machine operator interface also has new functions that significantly improve use for "servo-conventional" turning machines. (09/2003)
