- New Compact Torque Motor from Siemens
The recent launch of Siemens 1FW3 torque motors
opens up new exciting possibilities for machine designers
in the field of mechatronics.
1FW3
torque motors are high torque low speed permanent magnet synchronous
AC motors designed to replace standard electrical drives comprising
an electric motor, gearbox and belt connection. They are also
suitable for replacing hydraulic motors.
Applications
requiring a torque range of between 200Nm and 7000Nm
(power ratings 8 to 146kW) at variable speeds up
to 400 or 500 rpm are where the 1FW3 shines and our Masterdrive

complete torque motors eliminate time-consuming installation
and mounting procedures. This is because this drive solution
reduces the number of components which have to be mounted
in the assembly phase. The hollow shaft allows you to implement
