Linear Motors
A nother new product from Siemens will make its mark in the
machine tool and production machine OEM market. The new 1FN3
permanent magnet synchronous linear motor is designed for
the ultimate in accuracy and dynamic performance.
Typical applications:
- Highly dynamic machines
- Laser cutting
- High speed milling machines.
- High accuracy grinding machines
- Mechanical handling and pick and place operations.
1FN linear motors offer
enhanced dynamic response and speed significantly. Velocities
up to 300m/min and accelerations of up to 45g are theoritically
possible. In practice, today's machines already reach feedrates
of 100m/min and accellerations of 1.5g.
This new generation 1FN3 linear motor is not only price competitive
but offers advantages over conventional ball screw drives
with higher acceleration. Speeds up to 120m/min and increased
accuracy due to the elimination of mechanical errors. Machine
construction is simplified.
1FN3 fits in neatly with the Siemens SINUMERIK 840D CNC and
SIMODRIVE 611D drive concept. Each 1FN3 linear motor requires
a power cooler (water) for the primary section .Our first
systems have been successfully commissioned in Melbourne.
