The demands for greater process reliability, greater productivity and greater progress have far-reaching consequences for the construction of your structural components: formers, stringers, spoilers and flaps are becoming larger, but at the same time much lighter and the pockets even deeper.

Today·s aircraft depend more than ever on integral components that involve machining of up to 90% of the blank part to obtain extremely light but dynamically very strong structures...

The SINUMERIK 840D ensures high-speed five-axis machining, with extreme accuracies while combining with SIMODRIVE 611D and Siemens linear servomotors...

Rather than being constructed from several small components, the whole part is now made from a single piece. That saves up to 60% of assembly time and makes the component many times stronger.

Components in high-alloy steel – for example turbine rotors for the very newest jet engines are also cut from a single piece.

In the case of flat structural components, there are deep pockets with thin walls. And these can be created optimally by collision-proof simultaneous High-Speed Cutting with up to five axes.

That is why there is only one choice for aerospace manufacturers such as Boeing, Lockhead Martin and Airbus Industries, as well as famous engine manufacturers such as MTU, P&W and Rolls-Royce: The SINUMERIK 840D CNC control.
